International campaign "Stop Genocide of Donbass Residents" launched worldwide
An action within the International Campaign "Stop Genocide of Donbass Residents" took place in Russian Rostov-on-Don in the building of Ukraine's consulate on March 5.
According to the coordinator of the action Lyubov Korsakova, the campaign was launched at the same time in several countries of the world at 12:00 Moscow time. Yesterday, the action took place in Belgium and Germany. Representations of Ukraine, the OSCE and UN Offices, administrations of Presidents of the countries in which it passed became the action's venues.
Participants demand from the UN members to recognize the events of 2014 in Donbass as a genocide, and volunteer and territorial battalions of Ukraine and some of the AFU units operating in Donbass – as terrorist groups.
Nearly 10,000 people have been killed in the region since a right-wing coup overthrew the elected government of Ukraine in 2014.
In response to the intensified attacks, people have been taking to the streets, from Russia and Italy to South Africa and Britain, demanding an end to war crimes by the U.S.-backed regime in Kiev.
This rally will also take place in Moscow, Venice, Rome, Milan, Chisinau, Bratislava, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Sofia, Dublin, The Hague, and New York where Solidarity with Novorossiya & Antifascists in Ukraine, a project of the International Action Center, has called for a picket at the United Nations Office.
Protesters will also call for Ukrainian President Poroshenko to be charged with war crimes at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
