Russian Supreme Court outlaws Jehovah's Witnesses
The Supreme Court of Russian Federation declared the Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia “extremist” and banned their work, as reported by RIA news from the courtroom.
The court also confiscated the property of the Center. The Group can appeal the decision as the ban has not yet entered into force.
This religious organization regularly has problems with the law in Russia — court rulings banning aspects of their work, and penalties for possession of extremist materials.
