Morning News Digest 11 July 2014

Armed Forces of DNR captured Mikhail Gavriliouk, commander of a nationalistic battalion. He and a group of Ukrainian commandos were detained at a checkpoint between Slavyansk and Donetsk. Ukrainian media deny this information claiming that Gavriliouk was concealed by members of the «Freedom» party.

During fighting on the outskirts of Donetsk, DNR units pushed Kiev executors back as far as 10 km, forcing them to rearteat from Karlovka village to Galitsinovka. Yet another attack on Donetsk fell flat.

Movement of heavy military equipment has been detected in the village Strelkovoe, Kherson region. According to sources, Kiev government is pulling APCs, anti-aircraft missiles (SAM) «Wasp» and the systems «Grad» to the border with the Crimea.

National Council on Broadcasting of Ukraine demanded providers stop broadcasting of Russian and local channels, which do not reflect the official poistion of Kiev, within 24 hours. This was announced by a member of the National Council Olga Gerasemyuk during a live programme by 112 Channel.
