The closer to war, the further from truth - British press blaimed Russia for bombing Turkish territory with prohibited weapons
After Russian SU-24 had been downed in the Syrian sky by Turkish fighter jet the Western media threw an anti-Russian tantrum trying to justify Turkey in front of the whole world.
November 25 BBC Russian online-edition published British press review. It contained references to "The Times" article which says that Russian airborne has been firing Syrian refugee border camps with cluster bombs over the last few weeks, and some of them even hit Turkish territory the day before Russian SU-24 jet was downed .
"The area around the Yamadi camp, a few hundred metres from the Turkish border, was targeted by Russian strikes three times in the past month. The nearby Aubain camp was struck by a cluster bomb on November 9, killing four people and injuring dozens more."
«As was told by humanitarian mission workers to the journalists, on Monday, the day before Russian SU-24 was downed, „a part of cluster bombs intended for Yamadi camp strike, hit Turkish territory — possible motive for counteraction from Ankara's side".
„The eyewitnesses claim that before before violating Turkish airspace over Yayladagi Russian military jet has been ringing over Yamadi camp for about ten minutes preparing to strike. Then it was immideately shot by Turkish F-16 fighter jet“, — says the newspaper».
This news was immediately caught and spread by various pro-American media (including Ukrainian media), overtly blaming Russia for international rules violation.
Analyzing this article one should pay attention to the following:
First of all, in case if Russian airborne dropped cluster bombs on Turkish territory it would be quite logical for Ankara not to keep quiet but to announce the fact to the whole world which would seriosly damage Russia's internatioanl image and provide international support for Turkey in Syria matter.
Then article authors refer to some international observers not specifying who they are which means they make information source unverifiable.
Then and that is the main thing - the British journalists do not provide any evidence in support of everything written by them. If they really visited refugee camp bombed by the Russians they could show us some photos or video, don't you think? But there are none of them. Total absence of evidences means the news is fake.
This is the way western media demonize Russia, granting it an image of an uncontrollable aggressor.
Anti-Russian articles' authors do not build their work on evidential base (which they don't have), but on emotional component of the content. That is why Russian airforce - according to them - are bombing not the international terrorists but Syrian refugee camps. Moreover they do it with internationally banned cluster bombs.
Then British media review touch another topical issue — Crimean blackout and peninsular blockade by the Ukrainian authorities. This article quite unexpactably critisizes Petro Poroshenko:
«It could be that [with the help of Crimea blockade], Porosjenko tries to divert attention inside Ukraine from governmental failures in wide-sweeping reforms which should have put an end to oligarchy domination in politics and economy».
Ukraine's worries to be forgotten by the West are understandable and reasoned, but peninsula blockade be it direct or indirect could not have any justifications, stresses The Financial Times.
«In the argue with Kremlin Kiev should adhere high-toned position, making sure that the people whom he calls Ukrainian citizens, would be provided with elctricity and other supplies», — thinks the edition».
It seems very strange that the West which has not noticed numerous civil victims in Donbass is bothered with Crimeans' problems. However it could also be explained by the fact that Poroshenko is no more a favourite on this race. Someday somebody will have to become a whipping boy and answer for all the crimes of Maidan authorities. Present president of Ukraine is quite suitable for that.
Hiding behind noble motives and appealing to morals the interested persons will try to play the card of popular frustration and replace the used player to a new one.
Seems that this time is coming.
