A letter from a young Donbassian: Now I know how the history and the news are written

I have been watching the video of the police station occupation in
Gorlovka (Horlivka) and now I now for sure how the news are made and
how the history is written.

In the news they showed the russian flag and they didn´t show the flag
of Donetsk republic.

When people were shouting «Russia» (Rossiya) nobody did answer. When
people were shouting «Donbass» there was a mutter of approvement from
the crowd. Before a group of activists arrived there were no russian
flags and nobody was talking about joining Russia. I dont deny that
there could have been other people, alien to this too. Not many of
them. I dont think they were russian. And anyway — who cares? If the
people were happy with the situation, they wouldn´t be supporting what
is happening.

They have written in the news that the chief of police was beaten up,
but they «forgot» to add that this chief pushed a guy from the roof
(2nd floor), that went there to change flags. Just this. Good he
didn´t break his back.

Also they didn´t add that the policemen were throwing explosives nad
thunder granades into the protestants, who were unarmed. Locals
weren´t armed completely. I don´t support what is happening, I´m
against this — both here and in the Maidan. The violence creates more
violence. But it´s disgusting to live in a country where both the
goverment and the media lie this openly. If we are playing into
democracy, let´s follow the rules.
