OSCE observers under fire of Ukrainian troops.

As OSCE observers were being taken to safety from Slavyanks, they were shot at on their way to Donetsk airport. The attackers were no other than Ukrainian army forces, supposed to be protecting the observers.

Czech Lieutenant Colonel Josef Prerovsky describes the incident to a newspaper: "We left Slavyansk and headed for Donetsk. As we passed the first defense line with few Ukrainian armed troop carriers and approached Kramatorsk, suddenly we faced other checkpoints, where based Ukrainian soldiers simply refused to let us pass. They engaged fire and we have had a very narrow escape there".
