Odessa victims count hushed up by officials, people conducting own investigation

Speculations that police in Odessa deliberately under-report the victim count, has been confirmed. According to Odessa activists, there are about 130 dead bodies in the morgue, many of them can be identified only through DNA analysis. At the same time, official information on the already identified bodies is being held secret. Activist and relatives are conducting their own investigation, collecting whatever information they can get and making the lists. According to the official figures, 46 have died and about 200 people were injured as a result of clash between pro-Russian activists and radical forces on May 2 in Odessa.

Multiple attempts to make the victims of this massacre the culprits of the deaths failed flat. Video and photographic evidence give a clear perspective of who and how murdered people, including unsuspecting ordinary citizens, who were unfortunate to pass by. They ran to the building to find the shelter but found terrible death instead. Those mourning were even prevented from holding a memorial service to honor fascist victims in Odessa. Meanwhile, the death toll is growing. The official count of those dead rose to 88. The survivors of the massacre claim that the actual figure would be close to 300.
