Slavyansk today: no reason for panic.

Slavyansk today: no reason for panic. | Русская весна
Slavyansk is living what has become a normal life today – a small city, in a chokehold by army forces, special force units and what they call National troops, is continuing the standoff. Few checkpoints at the outskirts have been taken by Ukrainian forces but main city hot spots are under control of Self Defense forces. Everyone is engaged into operational tasks: some are at the guard of the check posts, some are patrolling the city, and some are trailing movements of the army forces, keeping an eye on multiple attempts of spy penetration. Every now and then there’s a shootout, sometimes explosions – a perfect base for new articles about new assault on Slavyansk. The latest of such “breaking news” came after this night, with Ukrainian and Russian media reporting a new intensified attack on Slavyansk, but the truth is there were just few shootings here and there. Some news agencies go as professional as quoting Dmitriy Tymhcuk, a famous Ukrainian professor of pseudology. In his imaginary Military Research Center, set up merely on the pages of his blog, he lets his imagination run wild, describing violent clashes and success of the military oppressors. It would be nice of some of the media to have a check on the person, who’s “news” they put on the headlines. Nevertheless, the armed standoff in Slavyansk continues, and we shall keep our readers updated on all important events.
