Ukrainian hryvna goes off the stage to be replaced by ruble

The People’s Republic of Donetsk will be using roubles in the near future. According to the people’s mayor of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomarev, Ukrainian hryvna will remain in use for some time after the referendum but the final plan is to switch to the Russian ruble. The reason behind this is the perspective of close economic integration of the Republic with Russia. «Economically, we shall be Russia oriented, first and foremost our industrial systems», — said Ponomarev.
