We hereby report on the details of self-determination referendum that took place on 11 May 2014 in Donetsk Oblast (DNR)

The Counting and Calculation Commission (CIK) reports on the final number of actual participants being 74.87% of the registered eligible voters.

«For self-determination and independence» : 89.7%
«Against self-determination and independence» : 10.19

There was a number of ineligible (spoilt) voting vouchers that amounted to 0.31% of total voting vouchers number.

Mr. Ljagin, Head of the Commission noted that almost 90% of voters supported the region’s move toward self-determination and independence.
In his words, " counting the vouchers was a straight-forward job as the number of ineligeble/spoilt vouchers was low, enabling the filtering procedure to be professional and quick, while the number of those voting against self-determination was relatively small, allowing a reasonably fast and straight-forward count».

Although the official Counting and Calculation Commission Protocol will be finalised and made public during 12 May 2014, Mr. Ljagin believes there numbers will not undergo material corrections.

The 11 May 2014 self-determination referendum was conducted in Donetsk and Lugansk regions based on the earlier vote by the elected deputies of local governments (Rada of the Oblast) representing the population of these regions.
