Jets firing over Slavyansk

Locals of Raigorodok (a township near Slavyansk) reported seeing two fighter jets at 20:00. "They were hovering here and there, the leading jet firing decoy flares - it continued for quite some time, as if they were after something.

Then - I saw it clearly - they started firing, somewhere near the railway bridge. A helicopter which was earlier downed near dam marshes, was set on fire. There was sound of explosions and clouds of black smoke".

Raigorodok lies north-east from Slavyansk, where tributary Kazenniy Torets meets river Seversky Donets.

On 19th April 2014 two dead bodies were found nearby: those of Horlovka city deputy Vladimir Rybak and a student from Kiev Yuri Popravko, who were drowned.
