Slavyansk fighters in Donetsk: We'll be back

On July 6th, volunteer fighters of Donetsk’s Republic implemented redeployment of units and ammunition, from the almost ruined Slavyansk, to Kramatorsk, and almost immediately — to Donetsk and Gorlovka. They broke through the encirclement, taking along about 20 units of equipment and other weapons and ammunition. According to reports, almost all Resistance fighters made it to Donetsk, with a small group ostensibly remaining as a source of «surprises» for Ukrainian soldiers. An armored unit covered the deployment by fire.

All combat units declared high morale of the troops and readiness to fight.
«Do not worry, we are regrouping our troops, replenishing our heavy armor equipment. Guys will be back. We have a very strong fighting spirit. Tell those morons, if we fall dead, others will come and take our place, but fascism will not come to our land»

Meanwhile, President Poroshenko has ordered to place the flags of Ukraine over Slavyansk. The Resistance fighters suggested he come and do it personally, and promised that next to the flags hanging they will hang him.

It is reported that major Ukrainian forces are still surrounding the city of Slavyansk without venturing into the city. Later they have started entering the streets in small groups but did not risk taking up administrative buildings (probably scared of bomb traps).

There were questions raised after Ukrainian media published photos of many anti-tank guided missiles ostensibly left by Resistance in Slavyansk. As the fighters explained, those were defective (they expired and some parts deteriorated) and caused them many a trouble so it made no sense dragging the «dead» cargo with them.

Evening saw unexpected clashes between Ukrainian troops and sabotage resistance groups. Ukrainian troops thinking the city was totally at their disposal panicked and opened erratic fire. Commenting on Ukrainian side rejoicing over the deserted Slavyansk, one of the journalists commented:

«Ukropatriots don’t get the difference between yielding to the enemy and leaving. Resistance fighters have left for Donetsk, as there are bigger tasks pending. They went having taken Ukrainian equipment and left some surprises behind. «
