Ukraine’s Security Council confirms Lughansk militias shoot down Ukrainian Su-25

Militia fighters in Lughansk region shot down an Ukrainian Su-25 assault plane over Lughansk on Wednesday.

“A Su-25 plane was shot down today while making a combat sortie. The pilot’s fate is unknown,” Andrei Lysenko, the speaker of the information and analytical center of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said in a live interview with the 112 Ukraine television channel on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the "Army of the South-East" (Lughansk People’s Republic) officially declared they had shot down an Ukrainian assault plane together with military attack helicopter Mi-24. Another one Mi-24 had been damaged, they say.
