Police searched the flat of editir-in-chief of the main oppostion e-media in Odessa "Timer" Yuriy Tkachev.

This was reported by his colleagues on his Facebook page. 

Yuriy Tkachev and his newspaper repeatedly expressed his clear-cut oppositional opinion and critisized Kiev authoroties and Maidan. 

He was also often threatened for his position. For example the notorious MP Dmytro Tymchuk claimed  Yuriy Tkachev's "Timer" to be Ukrainian informational security threat. 

"Timer" has always covered all the explosions in Odessa which had become often since winter. So a homemade bomb equivalent to 400 grams of TNT went off in Odessa overnight to Thursday, the press service of the regional police department reports, saying nobody was injured.

The blast on Odessa’s Alekseyevskaya Street was reported at 1 am on Thursday. Police and bomb specialists continue working at the site.

Over the past half-a-year, Odessa has seen a string of explosions. On December 24 a bomb went off at the Zastava-1 station of the Odessa Railway when a train was passing by. Another powerful explosion occurred in an Odessa suburb on December 26, killing a man and smashing windows in nearby buildings.

Early on March 5, an explosion roared in the vicinity of the Odessa office of the Right Sector radical movement, which has been classified as an extremist organization in Russia. On March 12, a bomb went off outside a business centre that housed the local branch of the Samopomosch (Self Help) party. An explosion occurred on March 29 near the building of a volunteer organization in the center of Odessa.

All bomb blasts have been qualified as acts of terrorism or sabotage.
