Donetsk declares day of mourning for victims of Tuesday shelling

A day of mourning has been declared in Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as a tribute to civilians killed in shelling opened from positions of Ukrainian military units.

"Expressing sympathy for the victims killed in the barbarous shelling of DPR residential districts by Ukraine’s Armed Forces, I order to announce May 28, 2014 the day of mourning," DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko said in his statement.

Flags will be dipped, all entertainment activities cancelled or postponed.
