As many as 24 people were killed and 18 more were injured in Donetsk People’s Republic in the period from June 6 to 12 as Ukraine resumed intense shelling of its territory, the DPR human rights ombudsman said in a report circulated on Monday.

"In the period from June 6 to 12, twenty-four people, including six women, were killed as a result of combat operations in the region. As many as 18 people, including 15 civilians, were taken to hospital with wounds of various degrees of gravity," the Donetsk News Agency quoted the document.

According to the document, nine people, including three civilians, were reported missing or were detained by Ukrainian troops.
