Russian AF launched operation against militants in Idlib (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Saturday, on the 9^th of March Russian warplanes began to perform precise airstrikes on militants' positions in Idlib province — the only region remaining under islamists’ control.

This was reported to «Russian Spring» by a military source.

The operation is being performed near the Syrian-Turkish border, near Idlib and Latakia provinces’ administrative border.

The position of Islamists in the vicinity of Jisr al-Shugur settlement got under the fire of aviation. It was from this mountainous region that the militants had repeatedly tried to fire at Russian Hmeymim airbase and launched makeshift bombs-equipped drones.

Besides according to terrorists’ media resources, bomb attacks were carried out on the Seraйib and Maaret an-Numan areas. It is reported that Syrian warplanes also took part in the air strikes.
