Exchange of prisoners took place between Syrian government forces and pro-Turkish militants from Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the north of Aleppo province.

Fresh «Russian Spring» report from Syrian Arab Republic tells more.

In Deir-Kak settlement area (42 km north-east of the city of Aleppo) an exchange of prisoners was held according to the formula “20 by 20”: 20 Syrian citizens were exchanged for 20 militants of illegal armed groups (IAF).

“The exchange was organized with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Turkey and Iran as part of the work of the working group on the release of detainees and hostages, the transfer of the bodies of the dead and the search for the missing in Syria, established following the international meeting on Syria in Astana on December 22, 2017” , - was told at Russian defense department.

“I was taken from home, spent 6 months with militants, of which 3 months in solitary confinement,” said one of the released men.

“Thank you for having survived and released me!” the second prisoner told quite emotionally.

“They took me out of the house, took the money,” said the third. “I am a civilian, I spent 14 months in captivity, I have a severe wound to the leg.”
