Russian experts, accompanied by soldiers of the military police of the Russian Defense Ministry, visited Douma, a bulwark of militants in a suburb of Damascus, to investigate the alleged chemical attack carried out by pro-government forces.

Experts on chemical weapons inspected the place where poisonous substances were allegedly used, but no evidence was found by them.

As a result of these events, a report was published by the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in the SAR:

"On April 9, the group of the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, which included specialists in radiation, chemical and biological protection, conducted medical check-ups of places in the Syrian city of Douma (located in East Ghouta), where chemical weapons were allegedly used, the statement said Reconciliation Center.

"The results of the inspection showed the absence of any traces of the use of toxic agents. The military doctors of the Center for the reconciliation of warring parties visited the medical facility of the city, where they did not find signs of chemical poisoning or exposure to poisonous substances at the cure, "the Ministry of Defense of Russia underlines.

Before that, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that no evidence has yet been found that the Syrian government carried out a chemical attack on the fortress of militants - the city of Douma.

Earlier, the propaganda wing of the group "Jayiss al-Islam" said that dozens of militants and civilians were allegedly killed last Saturday, when the Syrian army attacked the city of Douma with rockets containing poisonous gas.
